Christmas Math Centers - Ho Ho Ho! Numbers and Operations

As we are heading into the Holiday season, I have been reflecting on last year. Let me just say, I absolutely cannot wait to introduce my Christmas math centers to this group of kids! We had such a blast learning together during our math centers last year that the students were asking if we could continue using them after we came back to school in January. Here are a few of the common core activities that we did!

We used our stamps to practice spelling number words...

We used cotton balls  to give Santa a fluffy, white beard while practicing counting out objects!

These simple mats made building the teen family numbers a breeze!!

Students really enjoyed getting to spend some math center time in our home living area, baking up some gingerbread addition and subtraction!

I saved the best for last!  The BIGGEST hit of our Christmas math centers were the adorable baby Christmas trees that we used for addition and subtraction! These were cheap and easy to whip together. Their small size made them easy to store for this year, not to mention adorable! Such an engaging activity and a great way to tackle those common core standards for addition and subtraction!

If you are interested in doing any of these centers in your classroom, check them out on teachers pay teachers by clicking the pictures below! Don't forget that you can grab them on a discount on Monday and Tuesday!

While I'm getting into the holiday spirit, I have to share this adorable journal page one of my students wrote last year!!!

" I like Christmas. It is fun because the birth of Jesus."

Yay! They are getting it! Such a sweet journal entry if you ask me. :)
